1. What I OWE is

I OWE is a personal record-keeping tool. It lets you record money you owe other people (I OWE) and money other people owe you (OWED TO ME), log payments against those balances, set due-date reminders, and see what has been cleared.

I OWE is not:

• a bank, payment service, money transmitter or lender. It does not move, hold or collect money;
• a way to contact, bill or request payment from anyone. The people in your ledger are not notified;
• a budgeting, accounting, tax, legal or financial-advice service;
• a currency converter. Balances in different currencies are kept separate and never combined.

Balances shown in the app are calculated only from the transactions and payments you enter. They are a record of what you told the app, not a legally binding statement of what anyone owes.

2. Eligibility and your account

• You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, and able to agree to these Terms.
• You may sign up with email and password, Google, or Apple. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details and your device secure, and for everything done through your account.
• Give accurate account information and keep it up to date.
• One account is for one person. Do not share it or use someone else’s.

3. Your content

• You own your content.This means the people, transactions, payments, notes and other information you enter (“your content”).
• You give us a limited licence to store, process, sync and display your content only to run the app for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.
• You are responsible for your content being accurate and lawful. Enter only the information about other people that you need for your own records, and only where you have a lawful basis to keep it.
• Features such as voice entry and contact import fill in information for you, but nothing is saved until you review it and press Save. Check every entry before saving it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the app for any unlawful purpose, including harassment, extortion or unlawful debt collection;
• store information about other people that you have no right to hold;
• try to access another user’s data, or get around the app’s security or subscription checks;
• reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the app, except where the law allows it;
• overload, disrupt or attack our servers or services;
• resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the app.

We may suspend or end accounts that break these rules.

5. Subscriptions, trials and payment

• Full access to I OWE requires an active subscription or a lifetime purchase. The available plans (for example monthly, yearly or lifetime), their prices, and any free trial are shown on the paywall before you buy. They come directly from the App Store or Google Play in your local currency.
• Payment is taken by Apple or Google through your store account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends. We do not handle your payment details.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the price then in effect, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your store account is charged within the 24 hours before renewal.
• Free trials:if a plan includes a free trial, you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. Any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription, where the store’s rules apply.
• Cancelling: manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Uninstalling the app or deleting your account does not cancel it. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the current paid period.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We cannot issue refunds for store purchases directly.
• Restore purchases: if you reinstall the app or change device, use Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Settings while signed in to the same account.
• Lifetime means access for as long as we offer and support the app, on the platform where you bought it.
• Price changes are handled by the store, which will tell you in advance where required.

If your subscription ends, your ledger stays in your account. You regain access by subscribing again.

6. Voice, reminders and other features

• Voice entryuses your device’s speech recognition to fill in a form from what you said. Speech recognition can make mistakes. Voice results are always a draft, and you are responsible for checking them before you save.
• Remindersare delivered by your device’s notification system. We cannot guarantee delivery. For example, notifications may be turned off, delayed by the operating system, or missed if the device is off. Due dates always remain visible in the app.
• Offline use: changes made offline sync when you reconnect. Until then, they exist only on that device.
• Privacy lockrelies on your device’s biometrics or passcode. It adds a layer of protection but does not replace keeping your device secure.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep I OWE available and your data safe, but the app is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may change, add or remove features, and we may suspend or discontinue the app. If we discontinue it, we will try to give reasonable notice.

Keep your own records of anything important. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for data you lose because of device loss, account compromise, deleted content or service interruption.

8. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• we make no warranty that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted or meet your particular needs;
• we are not responsible for the accuracy of balances, which depend entirely on what you enter;
• we are not a party to any arrangement between you and the people in your ledger, and we are not responsible for any dispute between you.

Nothing in these Terms removes consumer rights that cannot be excluded under the law where you live.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zappsco is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for I OWE in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using I OWE at any time. You can delete your account and all of its data in Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, so cancel it in your store account as well.

We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the app. The sections that by their nature should survive termination, such as ownership, disclaimers and limitation of liability, continue to apply.

11. Third-party services

The app relies on third-party services, including Apple, Google (Firebase, Google Sign-In, Google Play) and RevenueCat. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms.

Apple App Store users: these Terms are between you and Zappsco, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation for the app, and is not responsible for any claims relating to it, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

12. Intellectual property

The app, its design, name, logo and software belong to Zappsco and its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these Terms.

13. Governing law and changes to these Terms

These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION — to be completed by Zappsco], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Your local mandatory consumer protections still apply.

We may update these Terms. The new version will be posted at the address above with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app. If you keep using I OWE after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
